Ancient to Modern - Windows 10

Operating System

An operating system is a type of system software that supervises, controls and coordinates the internal operations of a computer, controls the execution of application programs, and provides an interface between the user and the computer hardware.

As you are aware that the journey of Windows started from version 3.1 and has reached to Windows 10. Microsoft has launched the Windows 10 operating System Windows 10 which was released on July 29, 2015. This Operating System is a mixture of Windows 7 and Windows 8. Windows 10 bring back the Start Button, adds multiple desktops and an adaptable interface.
Microsoft has confirmed that Windows 10 users will receive free updates for the lifetime of their device.

Start Menu

The decision to remove Start Button in the version Windows 8.1 was probably the biggest drawback made by Microsoft. With the return of Start Button in Windows 10 the Start Menu allows the users to access applications, search for content, pin applications, etc.
Windows 10 has a Start Menu, just like Windows 7. On the bottom, left corner of desktop, in the Start Menu users will find a list of mostly used applications, recently accessed all the folders and newly installed/updated softwares. Also, a new button is introduced that display all the applications in a single list.

On the right part of the Start Menu, there is a grid of application slates. One can arrange according to their choice. The “live” slates display updates, such as the latest stock prices, social media updates, weather, news and sports scores.

One can also enlarge the Start Menu screen by clicking on the Expand Button. It’s a kind of having a tablet or smartphone screen on a desktop.

Multiple Desktops

User will also notice that design has been changed in windows 10. For example, Taskbar icons glow at the bottom when they are opened, but the application icon that is currently being used is completely highlighted.

Folder icons are far less glitzy and much more intuitive in windows 10, making it much easier to view the contents of the folder at a glance before you open it. The redundant “libraries” directory has been removed.
