Basic Operation Of Computers | MAP Tech |

A computer is nothing but a combination of several non-living physical components. Whenever all those physical components [ called hardware ] in combination give an output then it is a computer. Let us take a look of the above picture of a computer. It consists of several hardware components like keyboard, Mouse, Speaker, Monitor, CPU, Hard Disk, Floppy, DVD/CD Rom etc. and the functions of all these parts are quite different. If you analyze all physical parts of a computer you will notice some devices are for inputting data, some for storing data, some are for processing and some for outputting. Naturally whatever is your computer system consists of ; they just perform the following four basic operations:

Inputting => Storage => Processing => Outputting


Inputting



The process of entering data and instructions into the computer system. Inputting is done by the Input Devices. Examples of some input devices are: Keyboard, Mouse, Sound-cards, Video capture cards, Digital Camera, Joystick, Light Pen etc.

Storing



Saving data and instructions so that they are available for initial or for additional processing as and when required is known as storing. Computers store all data in to its memory. We will discuss computers memory in details in later section.

Processing



The process of Performing arithmetic operations or logical operations [computers like equal to, less than, greater than, etc.] of data in order to convert them into useful information. Processing in done by the computer processor, Some processor names are Pentium III, Pentium IV, i3, i5,i7 and i9 etc.

Outputting



The process of producing useful and processed information or results for the user, such as a printed report or visual display. For outputting computer uses several output devices like Monitor,  Printer, Speaker etc.

Attributes Of Files And Folders |MAP Tech|

Windows 7 and 10 provides different file and folder attributes to change their access right. Mainly two types of attributes are there: [1] Read-Only, [2] Hidden Read-Only Shows whether the file or folder is read-only, if it is, the content of file/folder cannot be changed or accidentally deleted, right-click on any file or folder icon and select this check box to turn on the Read-only  attribute on, to prevent such abrupt happenings. Click to clear this check box to turn off the Read-only attribute. If  multiple files are selected, single check mark means that all the files are in read-only mode.
