Input device are used to put data and instructions into the computer. There are many different types of input device in other words an input device is a piece of computer hardware equipment used to provide data and control signals to an information processing system such as a computer or information appliance. Examples of input device include keyboards, mouse, touch pad and joystick etc.
Keyboard
Computer Keyboard is a set of keys used to input text. Keyboard is found on computers like desktops and note books. Its layout is very similar to a typewriter. It is used for a wide range of tasks. It is used for typing in data from paper documents such as application forms which people have filled in . It is also used for entering different types of data. A keyboard is also used to give commands to the operating system of a computer, such as Windows' Control-Alt-Delete combination.
Mouse
A mouse is a pointing input device that works upon Graphical User Interface [GUI] platform. whenever you move Mouse Arrow Pointing also moves according to the direction you are moving. This pointer is used to perform different tasks associated with the mouse. A computer mouse is a hand-held pointing device that detects two-dimensional motion relative to a surface.
Touch Pad
This device is used on laptop computers. Its second name is track pad. Instead of moving a mouse, you move your finger across the pad. The pointer moves across the screen the direction you move your finger. If you tap the touch pad it has the same effect as clicking the mouse. There are also buttons on a mouse. It is a pointing device featuring a tactile sensor, a specialized surface that can translate the motion and position of a user's fingers to a relative position on the operating system that is made output to the screen.
Joystick
A Joystick, also known as the Control Column. Joystick is used mainly in computer games. You control the movement of an object on the screen by moving the joystick. It has a tracker ball. The tracker ball device does not move, unlike a mouse, just the ball does. The joystick device does not move, just the stick does. Joysticks are often used to control video games, and usually have one or more push-buttons whose state can also be read by the computer.
