Windows 7 and 10 provides different file and folder attributes to change their access right. Mainly two types of attributes are there: [1] Read-Only, [2] Hidden Read-Only Shows whether the file or folder is read-only, if it is, the content of file/folder cannot be changed or accidentally deleted, right-click on any file or folder icon and select this check box to turn on the Read-only  attribute on, to prevent such abrupt happenings. Click to clear this check box to turn off the Read-only attribute. If  multiple files are selected, single check mark means that all the files are in read-only mode. You can select the multiple files/folders for activating the attribute "read-only" at once. Consequently each such files will be found having selected with the attribute individually.
